Our unique version of an intermediate class is structured as a once a week, 90-minute ongoing class with no specific start date, no end date, and every student learns at their own pace. Rather than a set curriculum, class is personalized to each student based on their personal goals and experience. You won’t be locked into any minimum or maximum length; students stay in this class as long as they’d like and can drop at any time.

Because this class is ongoing, it’s structured as a membership type called the Ongoing Skills Development Membership. This membership type includes all the regular membership benefits but additionally includes the 90-minute class once a week. Because of the ongoing nature of the class, there may be a waitlist.

Curriculum

Class can be whatever you want it to be - throw on the wheel, hand build, practice glazing, make better handles, or work on specific advanced forms. Class can be self-directed, or your instructor can create projects to stretch your skills. For example, current students are working on anything from improving general wall control to learning moon jars and double walled forms. The world is your oyster!

Cost

Ongoing Skills Development Membership: $350/month

• This cost replaces the regular membership cost, not an additional cost on top of it

• Full size shelf in the main work space rather than the classroom (24 inches wide x 18 inches x 12 inches high)

• Clay is not included in membership

University Ongoing Skills Development Membership: $205/month

• One spot is reserved in each cohort for a University member

• Membership is for current university students faculty, and staff

• Same shelf size as the University member shelves (12 inches wide x 18 inches x 9 inches high) in the main work space rather than the classroom

Prerequisites

This class accommodates a wide range of experience levels, but the baseline prerequisites are:

• Meet our member experience requirements

• For intermediate wheel, students must have completed one 6+ week beginner wheel class

• For intermediate hand building, students must have completed one 6+ week beginner hand building class. A wheel class will not fulfill this requirement. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis.
